Recently I got up with the sun and headed out into the day for a morning walk. I am not, by nature, a morning person so I don't have many chances to see the world in its early morning cloak. That being said, once I'm up I love early mornings. The light is so soft and it feels like you're getting away with something, stealing these extra hours in the day. This particular morning was bone cold and gilded with frost. I brought my camera along and everywhere I turned there was something beautiful, calling out to me to have its photo taken. I even ran into my friend Thomas on his way to work in town and snapped a few frames of him. Enjoy the images, and happy Wednesday!
We went out this afternoon between rain showers looking for mushrooms. While we only found a handful of fungi, the forest was beautiful, dripping with rain and streaming light, everything a deep glowing green. I love trying to catch all of the small moments of beauty that are awaiting us in the world, if only we take the time to look. Here are a few photos attempting to do just that. Enjoy!
As you may have guessed, we've returned from our California adventure and are enjoying settling back into work and play in our cozy little home. As always I've been a bit busy and haven't been able to get to editing and processing the 1,000 plus photos I took. Still, I figured the least I could do was let you know I was alive and share a little sneak peek of everything we did, saw, and ate. It was a wonderful and rejuvenating trip, full of friends, family, good food, surfing, and beautiful places. I hope you're having a wonderful fall so far. Enjoy the images!
